What is C3? C3 = Compact Collapsible Chairs!!!
The C3 system is a set of event chairs that collapse from side to side. They can be used as either a single chair or up to 10 chairs in a row. The goals of the C3 system is ease of use, quick set-up and tear-down, able to easily modify the number of chairs, practical storage, and more appropriate seating than cloth chairs.
The chairs are a comfortable 17" wide and only weight 11 lbs. We are currently looking into injection molding capabilities to manufacture with lighter weight material.
How does it work?
To add a chair, simply slide the side with the pegs in to the side with the runner (a "C" shape that runs along the lower support from front to back of the legs". The sliding capability allows the user to modify the amount of chairs needed for a particular space without difficulty. To remove a chair, reverse the process.
When connected, the chairs can be easily folded from side to side by having a person stand at each end of the row. The spring hinge application requires only horizontal forces to fold the chairs up, and low-friction tabs help the legs slide over the floor.
What makes it different than other folding chairs?
Multiple chairs can be folded in minimal time with the C3 system. For example, if two people were to prepare for an event with 200 chairs, they would each need to unfold 100 aluminum chairs or unstack 100 ballroom chairs. With our product, 10 can be connected at a time so two people could unfold only 20 sets to achieve their desired seating.
Many other chairs that fold in the same way are made of cloth and are not appropriate for events such as weddings, conferences, etc. Our solid, upholstered chairs are much more comfortable than cloth or aluminum chairs.
